SPOTLIGHT by Jobi Blachy
As most of you know, Bill and I have worked together since the day I graduated from college in 1994. He’s been with me most of my career, and I wouldn’t be where I am today without him. Quintus most certainly wouldn’t have grown like we did the last few years if we didn’t have Bill on the team.
Bill started in the furniture industry in the 80’s with Bassett furniture. Like many in Virginia and North Carolina, he has deep roots in the furniture industry and many family members that work in the industry as well. Bill and his partner, Ed, have been together for 32 years and live in beautiful Winston-Salem, North Carolina. In fact, we lived on the same street for a while.
Bill loves to travel. In fact, I think he has already put in his PTO for all his 2024 and 2025 vacations! His favorite places to visit are New Orleans, Cape Cod, and “The Beach.” And while he loves to travel, he loves being home just as much and enjoys cooking and being the in-house bartender for he and Ed.
Bill is a special guy, he’s family to me, and I’m so happy to share a little more about him in our first team member of the month story.

10-year Anniversary Celebration
We are ramped up for an exciting year ahead, culminating with our 10-year anniversary celebration. 10 years! How did that happen so fast? It seems like just yesterday, but at the same time feels like decades. Entrepreneurship is no joke, and not for the faint of heart. We are thrilled with this accomplishment and couldn’t have done it without you!
A Note From Jobi
When I acquired Quintus, 100% of our manufacturing was outsourced. But my vision was to have a world-class operation, with some of the best makers in the world. It took a lot of hard work, and we tripped a lot along the way. We now have our own 26,000 sq. ft. workshop, in Los Angeles. We build, finish/stain, and upholster everything at our facility. I take great pride in our shop….I’m proud of the beautiful designs we produce and I am even more proud that I have been able to create a home for these amazing makers. I’m proud that I can help them provide for their families. And I’m proud that we give them a nice, clean and safe place to work every day. As we noted above, we love giving tours.
